Aurora International Publishing is proud to announce the release of our new booklet, Know Your Amendments: A Pocket Guide to Your Rights in Prison. This project is more than a publication—it is a tool for education, empowerment, and advocacy.
The booklet introduces readers to key constitutional rights in plain, accessible language a 9-year old would understand. It was created with a specific mission: to ensure that individuals entering prison have immediate access to knowledge that protects their dignity and strengthens their voice. Too often, people behind bars are left without clear resources about the rights they still hold. This booklet is our step toward filling that gap.
AIP is working to bring Know Your Amendments directly into prisons, libraries, educational programs, and the incarcerated themselves. Our goal is simple but ambitious: we want this resource available to every incarcerated person from the moment they arrive. Knowledge is a first line of defense against exploitation and silence, and it is also a bridge toward understanding, communication, and transformation.
This release is part of AIP’s larger commitment to amplifying voices from the margins. We believe that education and publishing can be tools of justice. By distributing Know Your Amendments in prisons and through advocacy networks, we hope to support both personal empowerment and broader conversations about reform.
